Our caring staff are always on hand to help and advise.

Our Service to You - Ambience aim to offer you an excellent service, and this extends to all aspects of our commitment to you. You can expect good quality dentistry and personal attention at all times and we never forget you are an individual. We offer treatment during our surgery hours, and to all our patients we offer an emergency out of hour's service. We hope that your dental experience with us will be both positive and rewarding.

The Team

Dr. Ian Odendaal BChD (pret) MSC Dent Implant

Adrian Jacobus Odendaal was born and grew up in Pretoria South Africa. From a very small age Ian always wanted to be a dentist and so in 1996 Ian graduated from the University of Pretoria with his Bachelor of Dentistry. Ian then served as a dentist for 6 years in the South African Defence force where he gained valuable experience dealing with all kinds of dental problems.

Wanting a safer life for their expanding family to grow up in both Ian and Sunet chose to move to the UK in 2002. Ian first worked for the NHS in Portsmouth before deciding to go it alone and opened his own practice Ambience Dental Excellence in July 2007.

Always looking for new challenges and wanting to better his qualifications Ian has gone on to study for his masters in Implantology at Warwick University, he is also on the local British Dental Association Committee as well as being a member to other dental organisations.

Tina Walklate
GDC: 124200
Since leaving school in 1991 Tina has always worked in dentistry. Constantly striving to improve her knowledge and skill Tina is a qualified dental nurse as well as holding certificates in Advanced Implantology and sedation. Tina and Ian first started working together in 2002 in Portsmouth and they developed a good working relationship so much so that Tina then moved with Ian in 2007 when he set up his own private practice and she is now the practice Manager for Ambience Dental Excellence.

Sunet Odendaal
GDC: 127724
Sunet and Ian met in South Africa when she was his dental nurse and the rest they say is history. They now have 4 lovely children and Sunet is a very busy full time mum.

Sunet is a company Director for Ambience Dental Excellence.

Marie Lawrence
Marie joined the team in 2010 as a receptionist and has brought with her a wealth of experience in customer service, having been trained as a telephonist through BT, a hairdresser, manicurist and nail technician. She is also a qualified fitness instructor with a good knowledge of health, excercise and diet matters. Marie has completed two courses and is qualified to administer treatments on our Lipoway Weight Loss System. As our first point of contact Marie will make you feel immediately at ease with her kind, gentle and helpful manner.
