We are a private referral centre offering implants and general dentistry under intravenous sedation. We invite referrals of implant cases from the simple to the complex, including bone and sinus augmentation and have an Iluma™ Cone Beam CT-Scanner in house to aid in diagnosis.

How do we differ from other referral centres? We understand that implant treatment may seem very complex, but we offer full support at all levels:

You may assist us in the implant placement or just restore the implant yourselves.
We will talk you through the procedure provide the treatment plan and supply you with the implant restoration kit.
You are welcome to use our dental laboratory or we will liaise with the laboratory of your choice.

The most important element of implant placement is the quantity and quality of bone, and ideally implants should be placed soon after or even at the same time of tooth extraction in order to preserve the bone height and width. However, most implants are placed after long standing tooth loss with extensive bone resorbsion. This loss of bone may influence the aesthetic restoration of an implant negatively and may even have an impact on the function of the implant. For this reason bone augmentation is often needed in order to place an implant.

There is a growing trend to restore implants at the same time of placement of the implant and there is some benefit in shortening the treatment time for the patient. However, the parameters for this option to be prudent are narrow and the success rate is lower than the traditional protocol. The excepted time for osseo-intergration in the mandible is 3 months and for the maxilla is 6 months. Some bone augmentation techniques require 3-6 months healing before implant placement, while others allow for simultaneous placement of the implant. Two months healing on the gum is prudent in the aesthetic zone; however we are usually able to place a temporary crown during this period.

I hope you have found the above information helpful and interesting. To give you a general idea of my charges a single implant costs around £1400 with a further £400 for the restoration, multiple implants do decrease slightly in price. Bone augmentation is £400 while bone block and sinus grafts start from £600. If you would just like the use of the Iluma™ CT-Scanner the cost to the patient is £280 per scan, which includes the basic Simplant™ view program. However, if you would like more advanced Simplant™ programs they are available at a further cost.
